    Hi Adam

A friend put this one together for me for under $1000 and does it for others:

    San Jose Downtown

It has two page exclusive listings with printable coupons, video plugin, photo plugin, featured business on home page rotated, forum, classifieds, calendar ...

I'm still setting it up but hopefully in a couple weeks I'll be ready. I'll be offering 1 minute videos of businesses, podcast interviews, blogs, and the exclusive listings.

    Adam,
I just had edirectory installed on Exhibitors.com, while it is pricey - IMO - it does EVERYTHING needed for this type of application as far a creating a completely integrated paid directory model. I've looked at virtually ALL portal directory options out there, and nothing compares.

We have only been live for a few days, and are working on database entries, creating media kits, and trying to establish ad rates, so there is not much more than what is out of the box. Mods from them are REALLY expensive, but I am sure that there are people out there familiar with the php/css that changes could be made easily and less expensive. My experience with customer service has been fast and easy.

Drop me a note if you'd like to discuss further...

marketgrabber looks like something from 1998. I'd never pay that amount for such a terrible looking user interface. I have to agree with harleyx.

Several top US city sites use eDirectory and the site owners highly recommend it. I'm looking at possibly using it for the Shreveport.com redesign.

By the way, EquityBlue, great site! Congratulations.

I've been researching the same thing. I really like eDirectory, but have had a heck of a time getting them to respond to my e-mails. I'm concerned that if their sale's department won't respond to a hot lead, how good is their customer service going to be after the sale?

It seems as there's a real need for this type of product. There's a company about 1 1/2 hours from where I live that's getting close to having a product ready for market. It could be several months before their product is available.

Good luck with your search, I'll be watching for ideas as well.

Same here. I spent a long time looking at eDirectory. And I suspect it is a great product hidden by a useless - and at times downright rude - sales organization.
