Just a few days ago I had a site up and resolving on the web within 30-minutes after domain registration, and that includes a bit of time making the page in Notepad.
If you are new to domains and looking to buy, sell and learn about domains then you have come to the right place. DNForum is the largest domain name community on the internet and continues to grow every day. There are over 105,000 domainers on DNForum doing everything from buying domains, selling domains, learning about domains and discussing domains. Take a minute and Register.

I'm using Joomla the most lately and have it down to where I can get a full site up with 1000's of products listed in one day. The one currently in my signature was done in 1 day last weekend.
It really comes down to how much written content is on the site. I go back and add that type of content as I have time. Since I do this in my spare time, I spend one weekend day on a new site and usually start another, and the other day updating and adding content to existing sites. The rest of the week I work on bits and pieces as I have time.
I also use XSitePro for quick sites (an hour or two usually). I used to do all HTML sites using professional templates, but the time spent hand coding is just way too much and leads to sites that rarely get updated. I'm converting most of my static sites to Joomla or XSite as I have time.

I believe around 30 seconds is all that it takes me to get a basic WhyPark site up and running.
About 5 minutes to do one like this FightersForum.com

Wow, you guys are fast! I was thinking maybe someone could get one up in a day, but your posts have bowled me over. I have got three mini-sites up now using XSitePro2. They're just basic sites and I know my seo leaves a lot to be desired, but considering I'm literally a raw beginner I don't think they're too bad, and I can improve them as I go along. If I come up with a problem there's an excellent forum also, with a couple of particularly helpful people on there.
For anyone who's interested in what a raw beginner's site looks like with XSitePro, you could look at www.affordabilityfactor.com or www.thefairytalequest.com (the site for my kids' book, but without sales' function). There's a link at the bottom of the first one that doesn't work, but it will once I find out how to fix it - I've had a bit of advice I have yet to find time to act on.
I'm really inspired after reading the above posts, and am going to redouble my efforts once all the fuss of Christmas is out of the way.![]()
Using a couple of Joomla aides, I can do a minisite (especially .mobi) in just a few minutes.
I get everything done before hand (graphics, links, etc) to have them all ready to plug in.
That does not count since Whypark (or whatever else) basically made the site and also hosts it.
I think we are talking about making a site yourself and your own Hosting too.
couple of minutes to resolve, login, upload, done. wordpress about 20 mins
2 hours, purchased HTML template for $75 US - updated it, optimized it and ranked high for the keyword i selected with in 2 weeks. Have grossed $1000 since i launched.
This is beginning to sound like the original race for the four-minute mile. I don't think I'll ever get my performance down to hours, let alone minutes or seconds, but I'm going to try for a day soon, from start to finish including writing the content.
Thanks for the great and heartening responses. It was well worth while my asking the question, and has given me something to aim for.
I don't think it's how fast but the quality of the site,i have a site which has months and months of joomla code put into it and it's paying off with an alexa top 30k,or i have a knock up site done n minutes which literally does nothing....

i say about a half hour but depending on which Joomla install i use. if i install with sample data i have to edit and archive and delete, if I don't i have to craft a new network architecture between dynamics.
Real Alien Videos took me about 2 hours with the most time locating a wordpress theme, adsense and the youtube video content. It makes $$$ and has a kinda nice pro look.
It'd be good to know how fast has anyone gotten up their MOST successful sites. I don't think simply "up fast" is a good enough measure.
I have a number of websites I'm currently developing that I hope to reuse the guts from for MORE websites in the future.
I have a site I'm hoping to have up today that I just registered the other day and have high hopes for.
So, from soup to nutes, I'm hoping this one will be a quick turn-over with user-generated content.
