    Wordpress Templates

Can anyone make good recommendations for:

1.) Studiopress.com > I love the templates here but I dont want to pay $200. Does anyone have a code or way to access these templates?

2.) Free Professional Templates > Anyone have great recommendations for Wordpress templates? I'm looking for more contemporary WP templates.

    Thanks!

    SG...

Your first question is asking if there is a way to steal them (you don't want to pay yet you still want to get them).

The second one can be found with a quick Google search for "Free wordpress themes". I've found hundreds of ones (and this is just what I've downloaded) but there are literally tens of thousands of ones out there.

But - you get what you pay for. A free one is cheap but may not be as professional as one that is paid for. But, all free ones allow for editing so you can manipulate the theme to suit your site's needs.

    Are their themes customizeable?

Also, I looked at their "demos" and most of them seemed like ones I could get for free - why is it worth the $20 a year?

I am interested in knowing where you can get themes as nice as these without links in the bottom for free... all the free wordpress themes that I have found, were really ugly and included like 5 link credits in the bottom and believe me I have looked / searched for THOUSANDS of themes...

I usually buy my wordpress themes from another site, but after seeing this thread and elegantthemes, I signed up without even thinking about it after looking over a couple of the themes, VERY much worth the price.
    Offers good for 24 hours...

What sets these apart are that they are really well built, the support is pretty good, and you do not have to maintain any links to the site or anything like that... And yes, they are customizable...

    From the terms:
You are authorized to make any necessary modification(s) to my products to fit your specific needs, however, you may not redistribute or re-release my themes, even after modifications have been made, as GPL/GNU or under any license whatsoever. You may remove my credit links under the understanding that all themes downloaded are still copyright of Nicholas Roach, and that all plugins utilized must retain their respective licenses.

Sorry, dumb question from a WordPress newbie:

I like many of those themes, but they generally just have the blog title and tag line at the top, and I'd also like to add a picture to the right of those items. Is that easy to do in any customizable theme? Thanks.

From the admin panel you can go to the theme and edit the files.
(Make sure you make a copy first).

Thesis from DIYThemes is the best I've used (customizable, full of options without having to use plugins)

Thanks, but I know how to get to the file to edit it ... my question was more along the lines of, "Is it possible/easy to edit the theme so that a picture is added to the right of the blog title?" From your reply, I infer that the answer is "yes".

    If:

    1) You can just name the picture you want there with the same name and save it in the same place

    2) You know enough PHP / HTML to modify the code in the edit menu to point it to your picture.
