I have to say, Wordpress is deliriously easy to use... when you login to the admin panel there are 2 main buttons - Create and Manage.
Couldnt and shouldnt be any simpler that that.

Blogging has proven to be very successful in attracting traffic and enhanced syndication is improving this all the time.

The alternatives are CMS offerings such as Joomla and Drupal.
They will offer more add-ons and sexy features but they are many times more complicated and Wordpress now has a lot of amazing themes to make things even easier for you.

Wordpress is good for small sites. But I have had nothing but problems with GoDaddy Hosting.

A while back I auditioned all of the best blogging platforms: WordPress, TypePad (Movable Type), Blogger, etc. Wordpress is by far the best IMHO.

With WP you have a ginormous community of users, lots of free stuff, like themes, add ons, plugins and very helpful folks who want you to succeed.

You have two ways to go with Wordpress.

You can go to Wordpress.com and set up a blog for free, using their Hosting service; but you won't use your own domain. You are given a sub-domain off of wordpress.com, like: whatever.wordpress.com. You are given a choice from a bunch of free "themes" which is what WP calls layouts. Once you know your way around WP, you can have a functioning blog online in 15 minutes...seriously.

If you want to have more of an online branding identity you use your own domain and go somewhere to have it hosted. The server does have to have some WP files and folders pre-installed on it for you to upload to. GoDaddy's implementation is very good and once you get the hang of it, it works great. I have 5 test blogs hosted there. I will say it was a bit tedious at first, but the GoDaddy techs helped me through it. Now, it's second nature, just like any other repetitive process.

Again, for your individual blog, there are tons of themes free and paid. Or, you can design your own but you'll need to know XHTML, PHP and MySQL or have someone make it for you.

You build out your blog, and add content, from a control panel, again very easy to use with a little practice. All the hassle of using FTP to upload changes, additions, etc., is automated for you.

The really cool thing is that you can build a website on the WP platform that looks nothing like a typical blog site...but for this you'll have to customise.

    Tons of fun.

SFCA.com is a great choice to promote San Francisco.
You did a great job on it. Especially, since the domain is only 60 days old.
    You must be liror?
    I applauded your work elsewhere.

Wordpress is an excellent platform to create websites.
SFCA is an example of what a "pro" can do.
But, not every domainer is a "pro" with coding/programming.

There are a number of services that will help you create a WP website(s).
    And, many are not expensive.
And, there are many themes that are easy to use with a "plug and play" feel.

It rocks, need to ensure you have a decent host. Send me PM for recommendations on Hosting, I'm reluctant to mention since there are differing opinions.

For the newbies - most Hosting packages include Wordpress.

The plus and minus of WP is that it is easy to add a lot of bells and whistles to your site
that eat up bandwidth and causes slow opening speed.
