Was that response actually supposed to be helpful?
Obviously, you can get an estimated range by using the google keyword tool and viewing the esimated cpc range for a keyword, but no, there is not.
Advertisers pay for clicks. Advertisers bid on keywords, and there is no telling which advertiser (and which advertisers bid) will receive a click, or what your percentage of that bid/click will be.

Actually his response WAS helpful though. Put an adsense unit on your site and see what it gets. There is really no other true way to determine the answer to your question.

sign up for adwords and see what advertisers are bidding for the words

I just wonder if we'll ever know what percentage Google takes from each click! That will give a pretty good idea of what people pay google but will not necessarily give any indication of what google pays out to a publisher (us).

Go in as a AdWords customer and see how much they ask you.
And know the fact Google will pay you 1/10 or less than that for the same key words.
I am not saying they keep 90% - it could be less and it could be more depending on the key word. (It will give you an estimate)

I have no doubt that google keeps a large chunk, a very large chunk, just as the parking companies do.
But google is a great alternative to soliciting for advertisers.
hi guys,
anyone give advice on how to research which verticals / industries offer the best ppc payouts?
https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal
this will only indicate the cost for the advertisers but has alot of other useful information , such as monthly searches etc.
Multiply the costs for advertisers by some 0.25 – 0.3 and you have a good rule of thumb for what you will get – with considerable error margin, however. But it's nevertheless a good approach, just like traffic estimations when you calculate a new project. They never work out that way, but give you a good direction![]()
thanks guys, much appreciated.
So if CPC is $10 , we get may be around $2 ?

For one of my site, it get about $.13/click average.
Adwords cost for Main keyword of this site is $1.78
So, Google is paying me about 7% of adwords cost for this particular site :(
Google has absolute monopoly in this market.
Yahoo is the nearest rival with probably 2 or 3% market
Rest of the companies together has about the same market
Google controls about 90% min and more.
if they are paying 10% you are lucky.

I think minimal adwords BID is 0,1$ and you know, sometime you'll get less them 0,01$ PPC (junk traffic and namedrive or sedo).
Anyway there are tons of tools for keyword pricing. Do some research through google.com
Are there currently any services that track the top 1k, 5k, 10k paying keywords on Google or Yahoo?
This is way to fun
