you can cancel negotiations once an offer comes in, but if you already countered the offer you will have to wait for them to counter you again or wait for them to cancel the negotiations.

Register Today on DNForum IT'S FREE!I put 3,170 names on sedo for sale today and my first lowball $75 offer for a last name.com comes in. I try to cancel negotiations and I get:
"You must first enter your asking price before you can cancel the negotiations!"
Why should I have to put an asking price to cancel negotiations?
I realize I can wait it out but I don't want to get any more emails referring to this offer.

Just put a high offer back. If they don't reply within 7 days you can cxl. It won't prevent you from getting new offers but going forward set a reserve so that people don't waste your time.
Good Luck!

whats the big deal just counter-offer, or too busy?
I'm buying credit, banking, loan, insurance related generics in .com, .net, .org with high search volumes/traffic. Will consider typos too! - PLEASE PM with name, info, & asking price!
sedo SUCKS! you are stuck, you can not change anything, this will go on for weeks. The only way out is to close the account and start over !.
I was afraid of this. I put ec.com on sedo awhile back. I couldn't stop the emails then.
I don't get it...you put the names for sedo to sell them, but don't expect to have to enter negotiations ?

I truly don't care much for the lowballers, however, without a minimum even the "good" buyers don't know where to start. One in five of those who started with low prices came back with reasonable second bids. I'd hate to miss the one good one because I felt insulted over a low opening bid.

If you have to explain what your domain name means, give up, it's a crappy name!
Yep, sedo needs to change their policy and allow you to cancel. What is wrong with these people who submit $100 offers on top coms?
These low ball offers come in all the time on tier 1 alt extension names too. Just a clue for the n00bs, even if it's a generic info, and infos are being registered for $1 or whatever nowadays, the original landrush names were regged for 2 years minimum, at much higher costs.
In addition, a lot of these names (info, us and even biz) were won in auctions where some of the top names went at 5 figures, and plenty others at $x,xxx. Add onto that several years of renewals and it becomes a complete waste of the sellers time, and an insult when he receives a $100 offer etc. They can throw another $15 on the name to take it out another 2 years and see if the market improves. I think it's also a cultural thing. Some people are fine with bargaining or negotiating, and play the game. Some people hate negotiation and aren't bullchiting when they say a price. They mean what they say and it's no game to them. In fact they think it's an insult to waste the buyers time with this game playing.

Moved to sedo section, perhaps they may want to "chime" in.
I set a minimum of $3700 on one "LL" org name, this prevents low ball original offers, and most offers for this name have begun at $3750 up to $6K so far.
From what I can see, if you delete the first low offer, then you prevent them from counter offering or bidding again within a certain time frame.
I've had a few like yours on the first bid, but after i countered some came back with reasonably adjusted offers.
It's a matter of whether you want to deal like that or not.
There are a lot of "tester" offers, made by other domainers, but there are also those who just don't know the values of domains, these would be considered the end-users.
So by deleting those offers, you stand to loose that part of the market.

I countered $100K and the bidder countered $100. Then I canceled. So no more emails on this one.
That's fine if you are only dealing with people within the trade, but places like sedo are open to the public - and 99.9% of non domainers don't have a clue as to current values. Use the minimum offer option - unless you want it to show how many offers you've had previously...
How can anyone feel insulted by lowball offers, it's not like they're saying your kids are ugly.

As a way for sedo to encourage negotiation, the make it harder on all of us to cancel....I personally hate sedo's selling interface, the only interested parties I ever get are from speculators, I can just tell who they are, so I opted to remove the sale link on ALL my domains, if someone really wants my domain, they can look it up in whois.

Our system has it that you will not be able to decline an offer without first entering an asking price before you can cancel.
The reason for this is that the other party should know what your price is. We have seen many cases where people are willing to pay hundreds or thousands of dollars for a domain, even if their first bid is much lower than this. This keeps the marketplace running smoothly.
Good luck with all your future transactions!
