    Does Sedo Pay 10%

A few weeks ago I had someone here at DNforum set me up a simple page with a news feed for a domain I own related to medical schools outside the US. Unfortunately, no matter what we tried, the right ads just wouldn't show. Last week I tried another feed type site from a different member here and had the same problem. However, for the few minutes a day the right ads showed, I got four clicks with Adsense paying me $1.00 each. $4.00 total. Pending trying something else (frustration set in) I scraped the site and parked it again at sedo. The correct ads always show there. Last night I got a click, and sedo paid me .10

    Are they keeping 90%?

    Re: Does Sedo Pay 10%

Sometimes I think sedo has a dampening filter for domains which haven't received traffic at sedo for a while. I have a couple of loan and credit card domains which seem to get 4 cent clicks at first every time after I've just moved them to sedo. Usually they improve slighly over time, but not as much as I think they should.

Possibly sedo still doesn't pay based on actual per click earnings. Reporting seems a bit quick for that.

    Re: Does Sedo Pay 10%

sedo guess the PPC, based on the region and keywords.

Its not real-time. Even if suddenly the PPC where to jump to $1000 a click, sedo would continue to pay the 0.10c until they updated their bean counters.

Stick with a company that do follow more real time trends.

thanks for the heads up - that's exactly what I thought and why I never really got into sedo parking...

    Re: Does Sedo Pay 10%

none really follow real time, but most do reflect the actual PPC and if the parking program earns $1.00 you will get $0.40 - $0.50c or if you have a good portfolio some will even pay you up to $0.70 on the dollar.

Programs like NameDrive, Trafficz and Parked pay a generic amount and then they update to the actual PPC within 48 hours when they get the actual figures from the feed provider.

You have to try them all, and remember the reverse is the same if sedo where to pay $5 a click and then the ppc was to drop, you would still get the $5. (allthough that is giving sedo the benefit of the doubt on an assumption)

It is a double edge sword, some domains will do well with one and bad with another. It takes time, always better to spread them all about until you are comfortable and that does take months to really get some analytics.

    Aint domaining fun.

I'm just going to have to start moving them...

What a royal pain in the *ss. I think outfits like sedo rely upon the inconvenience of switching hundreds of names elsewhere.
