Come on sedo, show us you are #1 as Monica's sig says! We are not spoiled brats that want a different candy flavor, we are your customer base that really wants a lasting relationship.
I am not supporting Sedo, however I am looking at things from a broader perspective. I haven't investigated every detail of these new features but from what I have seen and read there are much bigger threats to domainers privacy. There are many websites we all know which document sale prices for domains, I doubt they would remove any of their data when requested by the seller/buyer. There are other marketplaces that list members portfolios etc...
Also Sedo has not broken their agreement with Sedo members with these new features. Ultimately Sedo may choose to add or remove features to their service. We will have to see what steps can be taken to improve these features. Otherwise we have the choice to find another marketplace to list our domains.
cheers

Herculean work Acro!
Busting fraud at DNForum --creating world-class Parked customizations -- exposing Sedos' total incompetence --
Many Thanks.

Sorry but I disagree. I did not tear my clothes yelling "Scandal!" without cause and purpose. I documented flaws in the programming logic that exposed the seller info (this is halfway fixed) and explained why the new features need to be implemented with the option of having an OFF switch available to the seller. I did not exaggerate any of the dangers and if I am acting as the "canary in the coal mine", so be it. I have plenty of experience to know that I cannot just talk through my ***.
Furthermore, privacy protection is a major issue in Europe and with Sedo operating in the UK and Germany I cannot imagine how they'd go forward with the introduction of such elements. Essentially, I am saving Sedo from a lot of future hassle.
Michael, I don't know man. I put a lot of energy in everything I do. Those that appreciate it re-energize me. Those that ignore my efforts make me want to abandon any future attempts to educate and assist. So your appreciation is of great use![]()

Personally, I like sedo's new link to other domains we have listed for sale. It stands to reason that if a visiting domainer thinks enough of one of our names to visit the "For Sale" page, the same potential buyer may be interested in other domains in seller's portfolio. From what I see, the default is "off", so if you want that feature you have to affirmatively turn it on.
As others have indicated, I would prefer that the entire "description" be available directly on the "For Sale" page, without having to click a link to a new pop-up page --- which in my opinion is difficult to read.
That's my .02 from the peanut gallery!

Acro sedo call you or not?
No, but they will be hearing from me shortly.
Update this thread when you have new infos...I'm curious to heard the sedo reply.
I'm not going to be chasing them around for long. The purpose of customer relations is to establish communication with the customer. When I leave a message on Monica's voicemail and I don't get a callback, something is wrong.
Actually I was on the phone with Monica for about 20 minutes.
She definitely took on a lot of heat over the past few days from this thread and private communications. She listened to my concerns and will relay them to the production team at sedo.
I asked Monica to convey the message that the new features should be rolled out as options rather than hard-coded features; that the owner should be able to turn them on or off.
I was asked to remove the post showcasing the simple method that exposed seller info to data scrapers and I would do that, however two people have already quoted my post so it's pointless - especially since the issue I mentioned in that particular post has been patched by the programmers.
In all, I was able to get a positive feel that sedo does listen to concerns, you just have to raise them!
I think the hold up is that sedo may be working on an offer to hire Acro as a consultant, before they rollout as system which will allow users to view our credit card numbers & paypal transaction history...maybe even all of our past e-mails.
These types of consultant deals can take some time to put togather.
Nah...Trust me, I need a really long vacation, not more work!!!
But seriously, I think that something positive will turn up from this "tough love" towards sedo; I strongly believe that it's best to showcase something while it's ongoing. Sedo reacted quickly for the most part.
However, beta-testing means releasing a range of features to a small group of users for experimental use, before going live. The beta-testers should try their best to do the worst! They have to attempt to break the code, evaluate the visuals, contribute to a whiteboard as if their lives depended on it.
I had some hefty bootcamp training in product management in the past and I can definitely say that someone needs to step in and call things by their names, or risk project failure.
Hi Everyone,
We appreciate your feedback regarding the new offer pages. We are very open to your ideas and considering the feedback. You are free to write us, PM or participate in the poll on each offer page. We are currently in the process of collecting and considering all your feedback as well as reviewing conversion data.
Thanks,
Monica
Apparently Matt Bentley does not work at sedo any more.
