    Question about selling @ Sedo

    Hey,

I gave in and agreed to sell a domain name for $70 last week at Sedo.

A few days later I received an email stating that one of the parties involved (The buyer!) requested a written contract...On a $70 domain ..give me a break.. any way I waited a few days and decided to go see how many hoops I was going to have to jump through to make this sale..

It seemed pretty simple, print out the contract, fill it out, and fax it back.

However, since it is a binding contract I thought I'd better read it..

It still states that they charge a minimum fee of $50. :veryangry

What can I do to get out of this mess?

    Thanks for your time.

Re: Question about selling @ Sedo

    what mess?
the minimum fee of $50 is a given and a gift fromk when they charged $100
as far the contract, it could be for tax reasons etc... especially if it is a company buying it, it doesnt matter what the price is, there are some countries that require 'papers' to show for every transaction for their companies.

Re: Question about selling @ Sedo

    Hey,

Thanks for the reply, In the "view offers" section it states their fee is only $7 which is 10%

On this contract...which I gave you a link to it says their minimum fee is $50

That's a big difference when dealing with a $70 domain.

Anyway, sedo contacted me and said there was some problem somewhere and assured me the fee would only be $7.

    This matter has been resolved.

Re: Question about selling @ Sedo

    Hey,

I know it use to be like that, but I read somewhere they changed it..and then Justin from sedo confirmed it..

    Dear "Me"
Thanks for your email. There seems to have been a problem with the information in your account. In this case the commission that we will be charging should be $7 as you currently park your domains with sedo, and at the moment we are currently running an option whereby US clients who park their domains only pay a minimum 10% commission. In the light of this information, are you still wishing to cancel this transaction?

    Best Regards,

I'm not sure, but you see what he says...

I basically just wanted to try selling one to see how hard it would be..I think I'll stick with selling domain names at dnforum.com for a while.

well then its $50 charge + 10% per transaction total amount isnt it.

Means If we sell a domain for $100 they will take $60 for example.
