It cant be.
They manually select them.
The reason i inquired was not to place my name, but to ask what criteria is used for these.
I mean some of them, lets be terribly honest, would sell for $X here, and some wouldnt sell at all.
In fact a good portion of that list is lousy domains, and of course the rest are great.

The reply i got was polite and apologetic pretty much confirming that some 'not so good' domains make it to the list, as they are selected manually, so it depends on the mood of the person selecting them and his/her understandning of the market and even the English language...

Well how are they actually "selected".... none of my domains have ever appeared there & looking at some that go in there I don't see how mine shouldn't stand a chance; especially a couple of mine.

I have had so many discussions with them about that. All i wanted to know what criteria they use. I gamve them the example of DavidBeckham.info which isnt a bad domain at all. But it sure isnt a top name either.
The answer is always the same, it gets selected manualy, so like i said, it depends on the persons mood, what they had for lunch...etc....etc...
I could have used some examples of truly lousy domains they have there, but I chose that one to make them at least explain how they select...

I think it depends on many factors including the quality of domain. Few of my domains are there including the following:

www.GreatGambler.com
www.FortuneLotto.com
www.eWife.com

A couple of tips:

Priority is given to:
1) Parked domains
2) Featured domains
3) Good customers-- eg, users who buy and sell a lot through sedo
4) domains with good value prices

Sometimes domains are added because they appeal to a specific category of buyers that we are trying to target at that moment, or because they "round out" the list with a wide variety of domains.

...But in general you guys are right: they are editorially selected and there are many that probably do not belong there.

2. I have iSoftwares.com and UnitedStatesWireless.com in featured domains.
3. I regularly sell through sedo, having sold BiometricLock.com and
EdwardsKerry.com in August 2004.
