Smile Re: What SEDO do against scammers?

The thread starter did exactly what the sedo seller has done, he tried to sell what he didn't own, you both wasted your time.

Both sedo members tried to sell what they didn't own, one on Sedo, the other one on DNF. They wasted their time and other people's time in order to make a quick buck. Am i wrong? C'mon!

    I think its a happy ending )

You are so right on, this is exactly what happened. When a buyer pays for a domain using escrow, they assume the transfer of that domain is guaranteed, when in fact it is NOT. What if the seller mistakenly listed the wrong TLD? is it Sedo's responsibility to deliver the correct TLD? of course not!. Escrow did not complete in this case, and I think Francois counted his chickens before they hatched.

As long as I get paid, I don't care what sedo does with the domains. I can still see sedo's info for a transaction that was completed a month ago.

Re: What SEDO do against scammers?

    As things come in mind...

I won the auction, paid for the name, so I assumed I was now the domain owner.
This is why I listed the domain for sale at DNF imediately after the sale.
Good lesson, I know now that while a domain has not been fully transfered you are virtualy the owner of anything.

    ...

It will be great sedo respond to the 2 general questions they did not respond.
Simply for more transparency and in order we better know how their service works.

    ...

Today I still do not know what really happen:
sedo did not told me if the seller was not the owner or if the owner changed his mind and decided to not transfer the domain.

    ...

Yes complaint in forums does not help and I should stop.
You do not get more help/responses from the service owner.
As RaiderGirl said probably the only that may happen is been flagged.

    ...

I don't have anything agaisnt SEDO (its' a PremiumDomains.com's service partner).
As anything against any other service I may have complained at DNF.

I am just stopping to smoke after +25 years...
It's very difficult and I am extremely stressed, anything makes me be a true pest.
This started around 2 months ago, am wondering when this will finish...
    Soon I hope.

I'm going a bit off topic here, It's good to hear your trying to stop smoking Francois, I know it can be very difficult to stop, I believe you need a strong incentive to stop, when my Husband and I first met, I refused to date him if he didn't stop smoking, he did and the rest is history. He smoked for about 25 years too, after one month it was out of his system but he mentally craved it for over a year, after the first year it was all downhill and now he can stand the smell....Hang in there and try not to eat so much!...I wish you the best of luck!

In my case it was just 1,500 Euros for 5 weeks but imagine having +100K blocked during 1 month, 3 months ... in YOUR own bank account.
Look likes that no but do you confirm?

    ...
I had the same case for 10 domains I bought on sedo auctions. money was blocked for more than 4 months for the more difficult case.
For this domain I told to sedo my attorney will contact sedo law service for begin a lawsuit.
Sedo contacted the "seller" and after 2 weeks of negotiations with him (after 4 months) . I'm curently buying the domain but -- I will pay it 1000$ + the initial price ! -- . I want it, I pay it more. The cost is lower than a lawsuit.
But I think it is not normal to do that.

If you want a french contact on sedofor explanations :
call (tel +49 221.34030.275) emilie Laubertaux.
She usually settle my problems with sedo and she is very efficient.
