I already have a parked account as I am trying a few there...so-so results.

Took 4 domain names that were at sedo, then took those same 4 domain names to Name Drive for a month, and now those same 4 are at Parked for the month of March.

The traffic does not match anything I was getting at sedo. Sedo was very high in traffic. But the traffic count at Name Drive and Parked are nearly identicle, thus far.

Sedo will typically pay higher at the beginning of the month but gradually (sometimes not so gradually) drops. Dollar for dollar, the amounts have not varied that much between the three. None were big earner to start so that is why the became the test domains...decent traffic, low revenue.

The curious thing is why was the domain traffic so high at Sedo? Spiders? Un-natural traffic? CTR across the board at all three is relatively the same based on traffic counts and actual clicks.

There are a couple of individuals on this forum that are staunch supporters of Sedo. I was in fact one of those at the beginning of the month. A while back one of those supporters mentioned if I don't like to try somewhere else and see if they are any better.

The reality is I have been doing exactly that since January. Are they better? Not sure, 4 domains is hardly earth shattering news.

But are they worse is a more appropriate question. In terms of PPC and CTR the answer is no.

When my revenue drops by nearly 60% overall with my top earner falling nearly 75%-80% in one month...the CTR is half of what it has been...there is no drop in traffic but I will lose that traffic if the customer base who visits that domain moves on to something else.

And lets not forget that because I am a SedoPro member and because I have so many domains at Sedo, I get a 20% bonus. If I remove that 20% bonus (which is a "feel good" thangy thang), instead of the average 25 cent PPC that sedo is reporting the actual PPC is slightly more than 20 cents.

Meanwhile, the CTR is a flat 7% and continues to fall as of this point wheras February was 13.89%. Revenue at this date and time is down 48% from this same period in February.

What prompted me to do my analysis in January? It was being totally fed up to the no-response emails and for God knows how many times more than 30 days to transfer a domain in and waiting for payment for a sale for 39 days. Since Thanksgiving last fall, service has rapidly declined. Service, as many will recall, was nearly non existant for more than a month from Thanksgiving through the new year.

Lies, deception, no response to emails, the run around, and tired of the same old song and dance prompted me to start testing the waters elsewhere. I have not had any issues with the customer service at either NameDrive or Parked and to be quite honest I have never contacted either.

It seemed that the primary issue I was having with Sedo was in fact the customer service or lack thereof. Added to this the sudden drop in revenue and CTR as well as many of the revenue amounts slashed beyond compare and there is indeed cause for concern.

When I complain to Sedo about this matter and several of the same points that Acroplex and several others on this forum have made about non-relevant ads appearing on landing pages, I am told by two top tier Sedo people that "some things are out of my control".

Literally, I could publish volumes of saved correspondence of the lies and mishandling of domains and revenue. The shame of this is I had been telling several individuals at Sedo for numerous months going back to the early fall of 2006 about these very issues and have repeatedly been offered re-assurances that it would not happen again yet it is business as usual. Rather than deal with issues WHEN it is brought to their attention they jump on these forums as if they are the domain parking saviour and publically declare everything they are going to do. It called fluff...window dressing...it's there purely for show.

They just don't get it.

What I want to know know is who is this Donny at Parked and how he will respond now that Acroplex has brought 700 and within the month I hope to bring along 2500 or so.

I've got a feeling he might be just a thrilled to have the business as Moniker was when I was tired of being lied to and shit on by PimpDaddy.

Sorry for the long post, I have been holding onto this information for a while. But I did not want to tip my hat to a certain individual or two but the trial period we well underway when the suggestion was made. I guess its like the .mobi vs. the .com crowd...you either love it or hate it.

It seems that if once the domain is put in the adult sedo list for whatever reason, changing the keywords does not help to change the ads. They force you to put either an adult keyword in order to show one-click lander page or they simply show an adult portal instead if the keyword is non-adult...

Buy your own little island or spit of sand (a sand bar will work) down there in southern FLA, name it, call it your country, file the paperwork and pay the fees to ICANN, and it's a done deal.

Congrats Arcoplex for moving your domains to Parked. I bet you'll do better. It's been fun watching your sedo rants over time, but I guess that is over :(

I have been using Parked for about 10 months and sedo since they opened shop.

Parked is transparent. Donny speaks straitforward about any account issues and you can learn a lot from him about the domain industry as well since he is on the inside. He's as prompt answering emails as you can expect anyone to be and still have some sanity, oftentimes he answers back lighting-fast.

Parked has almost 2000 photo templates, if I recall correctly, to match your domains. They have the best photos/templates IMO. You can ask him to look for a certain photo for one of your domains if you have a hot domain that needs a photo to help it out. Most of the time he can find one for you.

I personally think the have the best and fastest domain control panel of all the domain parking companies. That allows for less energy spent managing domains, which I can see everyone is tired of at Sedo and elsewhere.

Some domains still, just like with any parking company will still do better with a Google feed or another parking company, but some domains at Parked obviously are paying out much, much larger than Sedo, Fabulous, ect....

Payouts are generally good - we have mostly high quality generics at Parked, so I don't know if you'll have the same experience if you have expired traffic, trademark typos, etc....

Also, you get paid twice a month. Good for constant cashflow and helping with important domain acquistions.

I've pulled many domains away from Sedo, but they seem to still be payout well on some adult names.

Now with Yahoo's new Panama out, click-through rates have been picking up, and ultimately the payout should too. Higher click rates should push the click prices up and help the domains you have at Parked.

Yea, yea, if feel the same way..... Sedo just makes a domainer sick with the rollercoaster click ride.... you just never know with them where you stand, where you'll be tomorrow, how to guage your investment performance, what to do next, if they are shooting you straight, if you need to edit again, what's my Sedo backup plan if it crashes.....etc, etc, etc.... What's the point of domaining if you can't enjoy the fruits of your labor without feeling like you are working like a ditch digging grunt to continue to make a buck with them, even though your domains are awesome?

Hi guys.

There seems to be an issue going on lately as our ad provider has blocked certain generic domain names from being optimized correctly (I’ve seen it with a few other domains as well). Just like a lot of you have noted in this thread, it seems that our advertising provider has picked up various adult related terms in domains or terms that could potentially be construed as alluding to adult terms and subsequently categorized the domains as adult.

We are well aware of this issue and are working at resolving this in the quickest fashion. If you feel that one of your domains is miscategorized or the ads are not resolving as they should, please send me a PM and I’ll take a look and make sure our technical team is aware of it.

That issue was brought up on the 23rd, it's been 10 days now and I took the burden of guessing off your shoulders by moving all of my domains out. Hopefully in the future no cached pages of my domains come up prior to a sale with porn links from sedo on them, because I will make sure I will use those screenshots as evidence.

Seems sedo is spending a tremendous amount of time monitoring the threads and putting out fires rather than monitoring their core business, answering emails and customer concerns.

This is not new news to anyone at sedo. I have been raising a stink about it since the beginning of March when I noticed this steep downward slide.

For March, Revenue off by nearly 45%, CTR sliced in half, and my number one money maker??? CTR down by nearly 75% and revenue at least 75% off is not more.

The response I got from two "powers that be" when I called this to their attention in early March to mid March??? "some things are out of my control".

This is not new news. This is me rehashing the same issue that has been going on for over a month now. The move is on and currently there have been 520+ domains taken out of my Sedo account and the balance will be removed time permitting.

The irony is I was at one time, not too far in the past, a staunch supporter of Sedo. I have noticed a move away from the customer service with a shift in focus towards the auction side of Sedo since the auction launched.

And contact a broker??? I have been since October 2006. Not once has one responded. They are too busy serving up their own fav customers' bullshit "premium" domains or fake IDN words. "They are very busy" I am told...very busy perhaps administering their own portfolios and getting them to auction.

Sorry, Monica. I know you are doing your job.

But if the folks at Sedo did their job, then you would be spending considerably less time on these forums and putting out fires for Sedo.

my revenue dropped sharply as well over the lastcouple of weeks, CTR dropped, which means I think there is the chance that sedo is not accounting for all clicks (this skimming issue was brought up a while ago as well) so I moved all my domains away from sedo..I am not putting up with this BS anymore and I think whoever is planning on making better money should try out a couple of different services as well
