He may become the best all time player but he has a long way to go.
Greatest is a combination of talent and longevity.

Much the best for the amount of years he has been in the spotlight. He was doing amazing things winning US Amateur's. There have been some other great golfers, but Tiger Woods makes you scratch your head in amazement much more than anyone else ever has.

Blowout win in his first Masters, won the US Open at Pebble Beach by 15 shots I believe. Last year's chip-in at The Masters on 17, where the ball stayed at the tip of the cup with the Nike slogan visible to everyone before dropping into the cup was one of the most ridiculous shots/plays in the history of sports.

It is also incredible how many times he should not have won but he just lurks and lurks and stays close. He can hit the dagger shot. You would think after all of these years that you could come up with some memory of him missing a shot or a putt, but he just doesn't let the pretenders beat him.

I used to root against him, but it got so tiring watching all of these other players fall by the wayside that I wouldn't mind seeing him dominate them all. A Tiger against Phil rivalry would be fun enough.

I gotta call it like I see it here. I bought TigerSucks.com at Snap Names last year.....just because the price was right.

Regardless of whether or not Tiger is the best PLAYER... Tiger was, hands down, the best thing to happen to Golf.

In fact, Tiger is now an "index" for the PGA... when he does well, the PGA and Golf does well, when he does poorly, Golf in general shows a decrease in activity and revenues. EVEN WHEN TIGER ISN'T EVEN THERE!!!

That's got to be hard to live and play with. He bears the pressure well.

ONE of the best players ever, to be sure. Perhaps even the best. Only time will tell for sure.

Sometimes hard to compare eras. Tiger would beat anyone who has ever played the game when comparing average days for all players. Put him in a tournament 75 years ago using equipment from that time and conditions as well and who knows.

If he had been born 80 years earlier he would have been the best caddy of all time. Must have been hard for some of the older golfers to have this young black/asian kid come out and kick their asses. But you know what? The vast majority of America loved it and that says a lot about today.

I hope not as well, because I just effected a career change into the Golf Industry (I have a patented Golf Product I'm bringing to market) and still am active in Domaining.

My first real sale was two weeks ago and I sold 5000 gloves (opening order) in one sitting. YAY!!!
