I think raikonen (sp?) may put up a better fight than he did last year but i think alonso will take it again if the mclaren team work hard enough.
I agree with jasdon on the button thing, if only he were at a better team..
I stopped watching F1 after the Prost years. Yet it is still much better than around in circles nascar imho.

Raikkonen's performance has been hampered due to technical failures more than his own mistakes. If Ferrari provides him a perfect car..he will have chance for taking the championship...(now that he is at Ferrai ..I can sleep in peace)and Alonso wont

McLaren transfers testing form to Barca

Pedro de la Rosa edged out Robert Kubica by the narrowest of margins to set the pace on the first day in testing at Barcelona, as both McLaren and BMW Sauber continued to impress ahead of the new season.
McLaren’s Spanish test driver piped the young Pole by just 0.001s to ensure the team again claimed its now regular position at the top of the times on another rain-interrupted day in Spain.
But it is the continued performance of the BMW F1.07 that surprised many again, with Kubica’s time adding weight to Felipe Massa’s evaluation that the Hinwil-based squad is currently ahead of the field.
The 22-year-old completed 63 laps and spent the opening day focusing on aerodynamic work as well as testing different brakes, before bringing out a red flag at the end of the session when he stopped on track for a dry tank test.
Fernando Alonso backed up de la Rosa’s time with the third best effort of the day, while Williams FW29 continuing to show plenty of promise in the hands of Alex Wurz in fourth.
However it was another fairly miserable day for Ferrari, as both of its F2007s suffered electrical problems.
Felipe Massa’s lost a large chunk of his day after his new car stopped on his installation lap, with the problem causing a small fire at the back of the car.
More misfortune then struck team-mate Raikkonen who was forced to watch from the Ferrari garage for a lengthy period as the team repaired a different electrical glitch on his F2007.
The problems ensured neither driver completed more than 30 laps across the session, leaving the pair fifth and sixth on the timesheets.
Jarno Trulli continued to carry out development work on the Toyota TF107 in seventh, with the lead Renault of Heikki Kovalainen was again down among the midfield runners in eighth.
The world champion team, however, focused on pit stop simulations and qualifying procedures across the course of the day and Kovalainen says he was pleased with the squad's work.
"We followed our schedule and made good progress today," he said.
"The car handled well straight away, and we can use that as a base line for tomorrow’s work.
Red Bull Racing continued to make little impact with its RB3, with the best lap posted in its Renault-powered car a massive 1.6s off de la Rosa’s benchmark.
Super Aguri returned to the testing fray with its controversial interim SAF1 as Anthony Davidson slotted in just behind the RBRs.
Rubens Barrichello finished a lowly 17th after a problematic day in which he only completed 24 laps after his RA107 stopped twice and he went off the track once.
Spyker made its first appearance at a multi-team test this winter, with Adrian Sutil almost three seconds off the ultimate pace in the sole F8 –VII.
Toro Rosso was the only team not in action, a day ahead of its 2007 media launch.

I've got my eyes set on KOVALAINEN
I just think he has tremendous potential and one the maturity en anger sets it, he will be unstopable.
I've been trying to build a site at F1R.com to follow the season, but I haven't had the time.... maybe a collaborative effort?
