    Drop Order

    Sorry for the very basic question, but what order do .com and .net domains drop in?

    It varies what order that VeriSign has them in the drop. They don't drop the .com then the .net.

    Here is the first 60 domains which dropped in today's drop (in drop order) as you can see the .net and .com are randomly placed

    Thanks. Knowing .com and .net drop at the same time is useful. Is there a pattern to the drop order? I see some sites used to sell it, so I assume it's not random. Obviously it's not alphabetical. Is it by the time registered? Where did you get this list?

    I compile the list everyday using my server. I have never seen a pattern other than most times you will get a bunch of domains dropping
    from the same registrar.

    Do you know before the drop time what they will be or not until after they actually drop? Either way, can you tell me how you compile this list?

    I know before they drop, what order there going to drop in. This is tomorrows first 40, again in Drop order.
    Sorry I cannot tell you how I do this. I'm thinking of setting up an email based delivery system to send to people daily

    I'm certainly interested, but just checking the first 3 on this list, 2 are not in pending delete status or even close to expiring (gaysaunen.net and gardencubes.com).

    My apologies, you are correct. I looked at the expiration date on both and saw they were 2012, but after re-checking I see they have a status of pendingDelete and are on the drop lists. I guess the owners manually deleted them?

    Don't get caught out, When a domain expires it is auto renewed by the registry, in the case of .com and .net that is VeriSign, while it is going through it's drop cycle.
    Domains take 75 days from the original expiration to dropping.
