I can't even count how many different hosts I've used in the last 8 years, (at least 25-30) and at the top of my list to recommend is JC-hosting.net . They provide unrivaled support, and all the bells and whistles most of us have come to expect from a host, including mysql.

Can give you the specs you want at your price. =)
you might want to go to some place like hostcompare.com. you can fill out a form specifying which options you would like, and people from several different Hosting companys will email you information about their plans and what they have to offer. I tried it once.
Thanks for your help people

can anyone tell me about 1&1 business Hosting, i noticed in the agreement of use for their MySQL database it says the database must not be used for web chat. Does that include a phpbb forum do you think? Does anybody else host with them and use a forum??? I would ask them but i will end up waiting several days for an answer!!
Thanks

I'd keep away from 1and1 - but thats because I think they are too big to care.
However many of my customers use them and I do set stuff for them so:
Their mysql databases reside on a different server to the one that hosta your content. They will let you forums, although watch for how many databases they give you, you only need one for a forum - but if you intend running lots of sites from one package, they tend to make you pay or upgrade for extras. Access to the database can be restricting as you need to go through the Hosting server to talk to it. Most smaller hosts or dedicated servers, run the mysql and hosting on the same machine, which I find easier to deal with.
Some thing to also note is they load many and I mean many sites on each server so can be very slow at peak times. Customer service does generaly not know much on how to help on the front end so you would get passed though several people for many problems.
Hope that helps a little.
Added:
- In the UK they give a free phone support number for business customers - which I have found quick to answer in the past - just the staff are not very tech minded.-
my experience with 1&1 wasn't good ... and i think what datat says is the truest thing.. they're just too big to care, and their TOS is one of the tightest in the biz, so there's no wiggle room. I'd skip 1&1 and go for a more user friendly company.
