    Re: godaddy hosting....

I have used it, while it has generous space and bandwidth, the control panel is very simple, and all uploading must be done by FTP. The only main things you can do with the control panel are managing databases, and changing the 404 error page, amoung a few other things. Besides that though, like I said the space and BW are good.

I've heard way to many bad things to recommend them. I would look at webhostdir.com for some hosts.

    Re: godaddy hosting....

It is pretty solid. Nice and cheap with their own datacenters. html and pictures serve up fine! For the more advanced stuff, not every Hosting company is going to have every single minutia of some service installed. They are all different. The linux machines are pretty good. I have only ran into one database service a particular software needed and they have a good roster of perl and php modules installed with fairly recent versions. The windows machine are pretty good, but still need some improvement with the ms sql database. Importing and Exporting can only be done through csv which is not that great using sql web admin tool. There needs to be some script that lets you administer the database better and no, enterprise manager is not an option for security reasons.
