if i decide to host a domain. i can look up keywords on google and see what the pay per click rate is. i s that the average of what companies that are similar to my website are willing to pay per click. how would i get businesses to let me advertise their banner ads and where would i get links for viewers to click on?

I have the same question. After parking over 200 domains at godaddy, earning 3 dollars in three weeks, I figure a better way. Develop my sites. Yes, the next question is, how to hook up the advertiser. Good thing is that we have experts her to point us the good direction.
