When you say no downtime, do you mean 100% uptime SOLID, not even 99.9%?
Profoundly influenced by #Bauhaus, @Nameslave unrepentantly embraces #Minimalism in his #multimedia portfolio. His early works include an experimental adaptation of Chekhov’s Cherry Orchard inspired at least partly by Robert Fripp. His totally irrelevant M.Ed. dissertation examines Organizational Culture and Change Management.

    99.9% is ok

mike, thanks, but I'm looking for something less expensive. BTW, what do you think of GoDaddy?

For domains yes, for Hosting I would look elsewhere. For the money you can find better deals with other hosts.

Re: Looking for a good host

well, if you want to pay like 5-10 bucks you can find plenty of resellers or others such as globat, ipowerweb, etc... which will load up 1000s of sites on one box, which you have to share everything with.

the few extra bucks you spend will go a long way... if your not Hosting anything important, then i see where your coming from... but if your hosting a large high trafficked site or run a small business for example you should never go with somebody that cheap....because they are not even close to 99.9% by any standards.. i'd go with somebody small, who is reliable, fast, secure, etc... just my 2c

I was offered a great deal yesterday. To those of you who pmed me and listed Hosting sites, I want to thank you. You can continue to list good hosts, as I might consider them in the future.

Re: Looking for a good host

The question of Hosting really depends on what your business is. If you want to take dynamic control of your entire domain portfolio; say 100+ live sites, then you need to think about a dedicated server, with root access and no shared resources or contended bandwidth. I have a box with rackforce.com and it costs about $200/mo but it's my box and I have root access to the entire Linux system. I also don't have to share CPU cycles which is one thing that can bring you to a grinding halt, besides bandwidth. The domains I have that I don't need to mess with are just redirected to afternic or sedo, BUT through my box so I can look at the traffic stats myself

ModHost.com isn't bad. I have a developers account there where you can have up to 20 add on domains 1500mb of storage, and 40gb of transfer.

    They also have smaller packages.

99.9% uptime, and they offer a 30 day money back gaurantee!

Re: Looking for a good host

I currently have two boxes with rackforce top of the line DDS5000

I got one for me, that I currently have about 30 accounts on, now before you saying anything. most of those accounts are doing nothing. maybe a 4-5 plain website for like small businesses.

The other I just got to resell off of, These are not cheap setup and it would be impossible for most people to get these and pay 3k a year.

I am fortunate and I will not over stack them but I do have room on the one server left. Since it only has one customer on it.

It is the closest you can get to dedicated with out paying a arm and a leg, basically for now you would be sharing it with one other person.

Plesh Reloaded is installed. With complete plesk Feature pack. I include 1-2 exclusice dedicated IPs depending on what you need.

pm me if you are interested.

It is not up 100% but it is as close to it as you will get, and believe me I have tried
    Apollo
    Ipowerweb
    Hypermart
And about ten others and this has been the best experience I have ever had.
