Register Today on DNForum IT'S FREE!I'm gearing up for some major development. I know MSSQL and currently toying with SQL 2008 which is offered by eNom.com's Hosting, but I just learned they do NOT allow any SQL Tools to connect from the outside! That means I can't use any design tools, can't edit with data grids, can't test stored procedures, etc etc etc. Totally unacceptable. Some functions can be done via a clunky web interface, but far too slow to work with during development.
Anyone else doing real development that has suggestions for a Windows platform web host?
I'm looking at HostGator.com next, and possibly GoDaddy, but this time I want to confirm FIRST whether they allow remote database access.
Thanks!
Run your own server, then you can allow anything you like! I use Rackspace Cloud
It's a fantastic system, you can create as many servers as you like, you can delete servers at any time, and you only pay for what you use.
Biggest advantage is, it's *your* server, so you have full control over it.
