Serve one-page web?

I am a webdummie so I am not even really sure if I am asking the correct question.

I purchased a domain-name (.PRO) for the purpose of resolving to one page web I created, an index file and 100kb .jpg picture of an aunt. :santa:

The registrar, Encirca, wants $49 to forward .PRO domains! If forwarding was free, I would frame it to a page on one of my webs. Luckily, the name server on the Encirca registed .PRO domain CAN BE CHANGED for free! I just did it successfully.

Can my domain-name resolve (not forward) to a nameserver either free or less than $10 /year with no ads or popups?????

I can’t have ads as that would offend my aunt as it could be an ad that competes with her business and she would then hate me for it. I expect very little bandwidth, say 10 to 50 visitors hits a MONTH as only relatives will check it out.

Thank you so much for your assistance in advance.

Re: Serve one-page web?

Perhaps you could transfer it to Enom. I think they used to offer domain forwarding for free. They still might. You can probably get an $8.95/yr reseller account for free.

Re: Serve one-page web?

Also, a lot of hosts might be willing to host stuff for you on a per-gig transfer basis. If you do a host quote on WHT, I'm willing to bet a lot of hosts would take care of your site for $1/month, plus $.50-$1.00/Gig transfer.

.
EnCirca does NOT charge anything extra for web forwarding. It is included in the price and you have the chance to set it up when you order.

they set it up for free.
