I'm thinking of hosting a site where users can upload new videos also. Most would range from seconds to a couple mins and don't have to be great quality. I thought I saw a host out there who had a script and hosting for this type of thing but they kept part of your profits or something for you using their bandwidth. Anyhow does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks![]()
Hi
I am also looking. I notice someone else (another small video sharing site) using OptikHosting.com.
However check around first to be sure. I sent them an email about NameServers a couple of days ago and no reply as yet.
Avoid XEserve.com - I lost everything with them. They were down for about a week, no support, no email, no refund, nothing. gutted.
Any other suggestions ?

I'm also seruously looking into this. Does anyone have a script for sale?
Saw flickscript.com on DP. Not looking for a cheap solution.
There is also mediadump - simple script but ideal for uploading and sharing video. Just need a reliable cheap host!!!

Yeah -- I'm really interested in the answer to this. For embedded web page streaming you can try www.brightcove.com -- their services are temporarily free, but you'll need to convert all video to .flv format first. To be more specific, I'm looking for a host that will stream video to mobiles; e.g. Nokia S60 V.3 (Real Player) via rtsp:// link on Nokia N80. If this can be done by http or wap then please let me know![]()
Has anyone tried this script?

On a quick note, I noticed that the last script mentioned has a link on their website to http://www.jaguarpc.com. It says that they'll install all of the modules needed for the site to work if you buy videoshare from altrasoft and host at jaguarpc. Jaguarpc has decent rates for Hosting so that's not a bad deal...although I still wonder how much bandwidth is ample. I guess as you grow you should be making more profit (hopefully) and could upgrade if the time comes...
