Virtual Private server

I'm in the market for a Virtual Private server $50. I been looking but don't want to get stuck with a cheapo or reseller.

I need Cpanel, 80 gigs bandwidth, 10/100 mbs.

Was looking at furturehosting.

I have good experience with Slicehost. They are very very flexible. The contracts are on a monthly basis so if you dont like what you get for your money you can end you contract each month. If you want to upgrade or downgrade, thats also possible on a monthly basis. I dont know about the CPanel, I do everything from the command line but I know they have developed their own control panel.

One warning: you absolutely need to have the know-how to administer a Linux box. They give you a choice of different Linux distro's but then you get the bare minimum: a Linux box with SSH but if you want Apache or a DBMS you need to install and configure it yourself.

Are you saying $50/year or $50/month? At $50/year you are looking at a severely overbooked situation in my opinion. By the way, Plesk is quite intuitive.

around 50 month. Future hosting gold cpanel package.
450GB 384MB 20GB 2 IPs Equal Share cPanel: $44.95
30% off coupon and double ram and bandwidth.
But im not sure if 10mbs and that much ram is enough?

more info ...

OK. How many sites do you intend to load onto this VPS? Nature of the sites? I have concerns about running on a VPS when you are responsible for a number of sites beyond your own. But that is just my opinion.

Also, you referenced lots of RAM, but more importantly what is the 1, 5, 15 minute server load on that machine?

There all my sites, I run about 15 mostly blogs and a few forums. Half the bandwidth is for one blog/forum and is responsible for my host suspending my account. Im tired of it! The site averages 3500 visits a day but can have spikes of 10+. The rest are 50-500.......Mostly wordpress sites.

Ill research the server load or email sales. What type of response am I looking for?

You are looking for average server load, 1, 5, 15 minute intervals, well below 1. Your list of sites - e.g., with a spike of 10,000 visits in a day, does not sound like something that would create all that much bandwidth, unless video downloads.
