Which web hosting for a forum???????

Planning to start a forum soon.....

Wanted suggestion for the Perfect Hosting requirements the same...

What do i need when it comes to hosting a forum....

You won't need a lot of space to start out with , choose a host that you have the ability to upgrade at a later date if needed , and you can start off with the minimum package until/if the forum gets big. If you choose a cpanel Hosting package with Fantastico then phpbb forum if already there free to use included with your hosting, you could instead buy a license for vbulletin forum software like what is being use here on DNF , depends on what your needs are. You should be able to find a basic cpanel hosting for $3 a month or so.

also if you use the phpbb free forum then everything you need for it , skins ..mods ...etc....are free at phpbbhacks.com , you can also get the full forum download there too if you need it.

apart from phpBB you can also opt for SMF another open source Forum software. You can see http://www.simplemachines.org/ it too has lots of themes and mods avaiblable with and best of all it is free

really where? My last cpenal/fantastico people disapereared then my backup server went down. i am wrestling with enom web hosting now it S*CKS.

But websitetoolbox.com is awesome for forum setup. E-z interface, even eazier than fantastico and cpanel too and i never thought I'd hear myself saying that.

i recommend clanservers.com Hosting because they have the old IPB 1.3 perset so you can install right way.

No payment because they were offing before it went paid so it's allowed.

They have alot of skins still out as alot of people still use 1.3!
