    Hemera Image Express

Hemera (hemera.com) which once acquired Corel's stock image collection and still owns AbleStock (ablestock.com) sent me 2 e-mail yesterday and today.

The first (sent Nov 10) sells their 1-month subscription (of 500,000+ royalty free images) for $9.99 (originally priced at $29.95) as a limited time offer (good till Nov 12).

Then just now I got a second e-mail, telling me that they have the "best deal yet": for $6.99, you'll get the same stuff, and once again, for a limited time (till Nov 15).

I almost fell for the first offer, now should I go for the second, cheaper one? Or will they have a third offer tomorrow, for something like $1.99? LOL!

UPDATE: Okay, now I know what happened: Hemera was acquired by Jupiter Media on Nov 15:

And I eventually took their $6.99 offer, which is good as I have already downloaded some 700 pics so far in less than a week.

How do you find the quality of images thus far? Also, do they span a variety of topics? Trying to compare this to some stuff on ebay.

Well ... I don't think they are anything even close to those on eBay. I mean they are way much better. I am only interested in color stock photos; they have more than 60,000 of them, and yes, covering a wide enough spectrum. Not the best I have seen (e.g. GettyImages), but miles ahead of UltraVertex. So far, I have exceeded the 1,000 mark (number of JPEG files saved), and finished scanning 50,000. Mind you that their standard plan only renders small images (1.5 MB) but good enough for most web uses. So even for $29.95 a month, it's still a good deal, esp. when you have time to download more: their daily limit is 1,000!
