Question about Business Cards

What would be the standard size, in inches or pixels, of a regular business card? I need to start my own business, but I need the dimensions of a business card so I can make them.

Please help.

Re: Question about Business Cards

There must be some software out there that gives you the sizes. Failing that though, maybe you should do different sizes. I feel that not enough business cards stand out anymore.

Just my 2 cents worth.

The standard size for a business card is 3.5" x 2". If your design includes a bleed (meaning that the design color goes to the outermost edge of the card) then your artwork should be 3.75" x 2.25" (you're basically adding 1/8 of an inch to each side). If your design doesn't incorporate a bleed then you'll need to leave a 1/8" margin inset around your design.

Hope that all made sense

Re: Question about Business Cards

If you have a processor like MS Word, Wordperfect or OpenOffice (free) there are ready made templates, google for them. If you are going to print your own, remember inkjet ink runs when wet. Find a kinkos or simular to print them on a laser.

Re: Question about Business Cards

Most professional printers let you download a template for all sorts of projects.

Check out www.vistaprint.com and choose Upload your own files

that page will give you standard templates to "play" with.

Hope that helped,

Re: Question about Business Cards

It's better to design your own. I did my own logo, business card & letterhead. (im a graphic designer)
It will look better and you wont have the same design as everyone else
