#3 in MSN, way down in Yahoo and Google

I'm #3 in MSN, but can't find my site in google or yahoo....I checked my stats, and so far for the month, my msn stats are 600% higher then for yahoo and google. Any ideas why? I've really been working with keywords, and also getting links to my website from other sites. I also have decent meta tags. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: #3 in MSN, way down in Yahoo and Google

I had the exact same problem for a long time, MSN just seems to rank new sites higher/more quickly than Google and Yahoo...I have several search terms in top 5 for MSN, and have slowly been watching them creep up to top 20 in Google...still no clue on where Yahoo is (it's been about a month since my site was actualy listed on all three)

I have seen that the most of traffic comes for your site is google search engine, we rank on msn and yahoo but. But when i check states of my website msn=1, Yahoo=1 and google=2. So, I think Google serch engine is more important for us.

Re: #3 in MSN, way down in Yahoo and Google

My theory is that MSN's search engine doesn't have the longevity of Google or Yahoo, so they don't have historical data to compare with. In other words, the oldest sites in their index are all just from whenever they launched their own engine (what 2 years ago?), so the age value of a site isn't very valuable. They have to rely more on backlinks, keywords, etc.

That's just my theory, of course.

MSN does indexes and ranks new sites quickly as compared to Google and Yahoo. I would suggest you to just continue with your efforts and have patience as Google and Yahoo do take some time to index and rank new sites.

You can always plan on being high in MSN. MSN has there algo set up to be easier on us. Yahoo comes in my second place and of course google in third for SERP placement. I've seen sites take as long as 1 year to get ranking on google, mind you I'm not talking about being listed. I can get listed on google within a week but ranking is a whole different world.
