I mean 5000 or more words in length. He has a couple of them and said it would be better to make it into a manual and or ebook becuase Google cannot pick up the keywords on such a large article? Is this true?
I thought article length was not a factor at all...

I don't know about Google but IMO it's poor design to have an extremely long article. It would be easier on your visitors to break it into separate pages, I think netiquette (sp?) dictates 1.5 to 2 screens worth of space (up and down) at most.

Its not that Papa G can't "pick up" the keywords, they just have less "word weight" in such large articles, rendering them less useful.

Never heard of this. Wiki articles are sometimes ranked number 1. And many read like books.
However, I do agree that occasional page breaks are very helpful and easier on the eyes, even if it is a graphic, google or affiliate banner, or a photo image.
