Many people think using " | " in a site title would give give them good results in SERPS. But that is not true. I do agree it works but please be sure that character is included in the index page of your site in the symbols list. If its not there you can use a comma for the site title and that will give good results because its a default symbol include.
the live example will be DNForum title.
I think I am pretty much right and if anyone has any views please drop them here...

Yes MG... I appreciate your explanation but I just wanted to tell you that some character notation has to be included in the source code.
But above all i 100% agree what you have wrote.
" | " is very much better than many people do excessive captilization.
