Dynamic URLs to static URLs is it worth it?

The question has come up time and time again. Is it worth it to change your URLs from Dynamic to Static? This is more or less a poll. Yes or No and some information why you think this.

Let's get some quick definitions of Dynamic and Static:

Dynamic URL: A dynamic URL is a page address that results from the search of a database-driven web site or the URL of a web site that runs a script. In contrast to static URLs, dynamic URLs are generated from specific queries to a site's database. The dynamic page is basically only a template in which to display the results of the database query. Instead of changing information in the HTML code, the data is changed in the database.

Example: http://www.example.com/forums/thread...2345&sort=date

Static URL: Is a URL that doesn't change, and doesn't have variable strings.

Example: http://www.example.com/products/example.php

If you have the ability to do it, why not do it? There is no evidence that it hurts, only speculation that it helps. You need every bit of "help" you can when trying to SEO your website.

If you do this with an established website you'll end up loosing tons of PR so be careful how you do it. Sometimes it's worth to keep the dynamic URLs.
