    Google and .php pages

Does Google spider and rank .php pages the same as .html pages? Is one more beneficial than the other?

    Any thoughts are most welcome.

    Re: Google and .php pages

Considering the popularity of .php based sites, I would have thought that Google and others will have catered for the processing of .php pages just as much as .html, probably even more so.

What I still don't know is whether or not search engine spiders support <? php includes > for your header and footer. If not, your meta data, title, description etc.. won't be included in the crawl.

    Anyone know ?

    - Thanks

the spiders won't see the <? php includes > at all, just the PHP script's output, wich is a normal HTML page.

    Google does spider .php pages.
However, best results are achieved when you are using mod_rewrite to transform :
    http://www.site.com/php-page.php?id=1&a=3
    to
    http://www.site.com/keyword1/keyword2.html

    Good luck.

I'm with you on mod_rewrite but what do you mean by:
    http://www.site.com/keyword1/keyword2.html

    How does that work?
