    Looking for help

I own a web Hosting site <edited>, I have been working on this site for the last 8 months or so, although it has been online for about 2 years. I have the pages tuned for small business web hosting and related terms, have external and internal links, a PR4 on Google, submit the site to the major search engines at least every other month, have written and post articles and e-books, update the site every other week or so, added a sitemap, paid for traffic, I have a blog etc. I have not finished adding the RSS feed yet.

So with all of this, you are probably asking, what is the problem? Well, I have zero, nill, nada traffic. In fact if it wasn't for spiders I would probably check to make sure I was on the web and live! My poor Google Adsence account is as dry as an old well. Newsletter signups ... well lets just say Im not sure they even work as there has been no traffic. I need to know what I have done wrong and how to get some targeted traffic and more important customers.

Please if you have any suggestions let me know. I have had the site analyzed by Web Postion Gold, MSN and SEO ELite and only minor things have been found. I am at a loss. I have read so much on SEO that I can recite the stuff in my sleep. But apparently, I am missing something.

PLEASE... I need help. I am unemployed so money is tight atm. But will try what ever I can to get things growing again. The only clients I have are those I got from eBay a while back...

    Thanks

    Thanks

With the above that I have quoted: Stay away from submitting this/your site once a month, all you have to do is "One Time," and let the index do the rest. Keep in mind that the SE's will and can lable your site as a spam site for doing this "all" the time.

I will say this every time, stay away from these types of Software to "Help you improve your SERP Ranking, this will kill you site, this will send your site off to supplemental land. Web Postion Gold, SEO ELiTE. No No and No!

    A couple of questions:

    1. How long has your site been up
    2. How many pages are currently index'ed
    3. What's your market
    4. How much time are you willing to wait to see results

    Re: Looking for help

Few things I would do different.

Ditch the forum. Without a big amount of traffic, a pool of people already interested in seeding the forum, or a natural hook to people visiting the forum it will not take off. Empty forums don't reflect well on a website, much like driving by a big parking lot and seeing it entirely empty - like a Kmart =P.

Consolidate your links to other site information into maybe one sentence and the link to more information. This way you can target the keywords for that particular chunk of information on a specific page, and at the same time keep your homepage slim, sleek, and unintimidating.

What does RD stand for? Your business is named RD webhosting, but I don't know what RD means. Your initials? Research and Development?

Holy crap is there an unnecessary amount of information attacking the visitor on that newsletter page. For a newsletter you need 3 things: the hook line, a textbox for email and a signup button, and optionally a checkbox to receive special offers if you intend to send them. That's it, nothing else should be there.

The RSL page has non-working links and why is the layout changing? BAD, BAD! Change color schemes, change graphics if you want to differentiate between two divisions of the same company. Don't change the way visitors navigate the site, they are easily confused and frustrated.

Some of your "projects we've worked on" are links to no longer existant sites. Get rid of them or link to an archive of what they were.

Mainly clean the site up entirely. Decide on one layout, stick with it throughout the entire site, every page. Go through every page and make sure the links are working. Make sure your information is up to date. Make sure you're not banned in G/Y/M. As sad as it is, for a professional business the layout is relatively important to install confidence in the average person. It doesn't have to be fancy, but it should be easy to read, easy to navigate, and look pleasing. aka pick some complimentary colors for background, links, text, etc. and use them uniformly throughout the site (CSS is perfect for this).

How to drive traffic? Write articles and submit them to article places and anywhere else that'll use em. Put your website link in the author byline.

Link your website in the signature option on every forum you visit.

Offer an affiliate program for other people to send you customers and get paid for it. This generates of one way free backlinks, lots of them if you have a good program, great for SE's.

Write a script and give it away. Put a link to your site somewhere on the script. This generates one way free backlinks, lots of them if you write a good, useful or niche script.

Pimp the horizontal/vertical (related) link trades, for whatever traffic and SE benefit they still add (they do still add value, though probably not much). Buy, barter, beg. Get links from decent sites, however you can get them. Cheap is good, free is better.

Write content articles about web Hosting and get an RSS feed. Get your feed listed on feed aggregators. Get your name out there.

    Re: Looking for help

    Dear Rlaubert,

IMO, you have done a great job in promoting your site, leaving no stone upturned. I haven’t visited your site, so right now, I can’t suggest you in that matter. Maybe, the posts already running and your knowledge and experience are enough to brush the dust off the site.

What my say is that it is not only you responsible for the ranking and dismissal of the site. The responsibility lies on the shoulder of search engines too. Recently, a phenomenon called “Spamdexing”, or to keep in simple words – Search Engine Spamming has been experienced in the SERPs. Under its influence search engines are loosing there relevancy in SERPs, by ranking some irrelevant crap sites near the top of the ranks, and devaluing the relevant sites. You may be thinking ....

    WHY???
The reason is simple: Just to earn profits.

    How???
Google has taken a two pronged approach to earn profits with both hands.

On one hand, after loosing the site rankings, site owners are lured and indirectly forced to opt for “Adsense/Adwords Programs”. Hence Google earns profits, which it was not earning, when the affected site was on top in organic rankings.

On the second hand, when surfer doesn’t finds relevant links in the SERPs, they here indirectly forced to click on relevant and attractive “Sponsored Listings”, which are again source of revenue for Google.

If you are interested to know How Search Engine Users are cheated, visit : http://www.organicspam.com/how_searc...re_cheated.asp

What one thing you need to do is Visit: http://www.organicspam.com/voice_your_appeal.asp and voice your appeal against the Search Engines.
    Good Luck
