Briefly, a marketing strategy is a summary of how you intend to attract customers. A marketing plan is the document describing what you intend to do to achieve the marketing strategy.
For example, a marketing strategy might be to sell geo domains to real estate agents. A marketing plan would describe the tactics of sending direct mail, making cold calls, etc, as well as a SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) and other actionable information needed to achieve the strategy and drive the day-to-day execution of the tactics.
A marketing plan is one part of the business plan.
Marketing plans, business plans and marketing strategies can constantly change.

Marketing is the key to successful site development.
Thanks for the good answer.![]()
Your welcome. Another thought I have heard before is that although the marketing plan will change, it's foolish to start without one.
Good luck with your venture.
