PageRank Impact? - DNForum - Domain Sales, Domain Forum, Domain Appraisals, Domain Registrars

Hi

My question is regarding PageRank and it's impact on results in Google.
I have a site which has results in the top 3 pages of Google for relevant search terms, but the site has no PageRank as of yet. Once the site receives it's PageRank in the next update, how will it affect these listings (in theory of course)? Will the rankings rise, stay the same, or fall? I would personally think that they would rise, but I am no die-hard SEO expert, I just do what I have done for the last couple of years to get results.

Craig,

Your site probably has Pagerank but you just don't know what it is. The pagerank bar on the Google toolbar may say 0 but that does reflects the fact that it has not been updated since the pagerank code was hacked and put on the internet for all to see about 9 months ago. Pagerank bar does move, but rarely these days.

My site has ZERO pagerank

I have checked this with numerous tools etc as I don't use the google toolbar (I browse with FireFox)

Graham is right. You have PR most likely but Google does not visibily show your actual PR until an PR update which now has been occuring about quarterly now.

Nice SERPs though so who cares about PR

Keep in mind, the PR number is Just for Entertainment purposes. It won't really affect your SERP rankings, Yes, backlinks do matter, and keep your back links one way and thematic, as much as possible.
