Can anybody explain what are the SEO advantages of old domains(for example 5+yo) over "younger" domains?
I heard that Google likes websites with old domains...is this true?
Thanks,
Petros
Older domain:
+ shows to the engine that the site is "serious" not hit and run type...
+ usually more backlinks and backlinks are accumulated over time so no suspicion of link-spam
+ because of links -> gets spidered more frequently
+ gets a boost if an old page is updated with fresh content
New domain
- if too many links too fast can fall suspect to link link buying or spamming
but
+ gets a week or two boost in Google and other for being a fresh content

but "an older domain" I would call one over 1 year old, cause there is no real evidence of 5 year old behaving better than the same 4 year old just because of the age!![]()
