Should I just have him build the site and then find another person to do the SEO after the site is built OR am I better off finding somebody that knows how to BOTH development and SEO at the same time ?
Thanks
Thanks for the advice Adam
I am not sure who your web designer is, but these days most of the web designers add the SEO services to their site and in most of the cases they dont really know what they are doing (I am not referring to your developer here). I would suggest go ahead get a good website built by your developer and ask him for extended support if the site has any issues for the next two to three months. Then find an dedicated SEO guy for your site, if they are good enough they can have a look at the site architecture and give you a feedback for the site and get it corrected from your developer. This is the most common practice I have seen and this is what I ve been telling my clients over years(I have a look at my clients site manually and then submit for a Crawl in some premium tools and give them feedback). Though SEO and Web Design come in to same arena, but it would be almost impossible to master both of them because their functionalities are different. Hope this helps.
