vbseo

I have three forums at present and I'm having vbseo installed.

I see many top forums dont use it and I have to wonder if there's a reason why I shouldn't as well. Everything about it tells me I should, but looking over most top forums I dont see it being used.

Is there something I'm missing, are there reasons not to use it ?

Thanks for your input.

Jack

(Please don't ask the names of the forums, I won't advertise them nor do I publisize my goings on openly)

Re: using vbseo

I haven't used it either, but I remember a thread Adam started, which bosted about it. Basically, dynamic pages with long ugly URL's are poor in the SE. He and others claim that it really boosts the SEO, and therefore increases traffic. I just wonder what size of a forum, abd how significant it does this. I have also been considering purchasing it as well.

Google today doesn't have a problem indexing and ranking dynamic URL's, just as long as they don't have too many parameters in them.

Re: using vbseo

When VBSeo launced they knew all to well that the VB urls had a hard time getting spiderd, hence the reason for it but over time VB have catched on and made the software better and more spider friendly so now "i" don't think it really matters but having said that i have seen no definitive evidence that VBSeo helps or does not.

It will not do any harm thats for sure. So really the choice is yours.

Re: vbseo

Does anyone know any proof results of how much vbseo actually works?

Re: vbseo

I should have it installed on two forums this evening. I'll know soon if it has an effect. Right now my /archive/ in one of them is all over google, yahoo and msn. I might explore the vb way soon after and will post results (without the name) This might take a good month for me to reply but will never the less. I'm starting a new forum as well, and will probably use the vb method alone to find out more. That too I'll try and post my findings.

Re: vbseo

Some say they see results from vbseo and some say they dont.

I used it on one of my forums and it did drop the traffic for a while, but started picking back up after.. I didnt see exactly how much, cause I sold the site a little afterwards.

But, they wouldn't let me use it on my adult website :(
