Is it worth it to pay for submission into Yahoo Directory?

I know Yahoo charges $299 for submission into its directory is it really worth it for that price, will it increase traffic, PR?

Im receiving most of my traffic for this site i have now and I didn't pay one lick to get inside the directory.

As far as direct traffic from the Yahoo directory goes, I would say it depends on what category page your link ends up on. I wouldnt expect a whole heap of traffic from just the one directory listing, it should be one part of your whole marketing strategy if affordable.

at one time the Yahoo directory was THEE place to be listed. i used to get tens of THOUSANDS of visitors from them years ago. now i just get a trickle anymore. they aren't even hardly worth the backlink anymore unless you get listed in a category that doesnt have many sites listed. they used to display all of the directory listings on a single page for each category, but now have broken them down, so you may be 10 pages deep, on a page that has little to no pr. hardly worth $300.
