5000 uniques What would you do?

What would you do with loads of mostly US random traffic? Roughly 5000 uniques a day. The traffic is nearly impossible to optimize using traditional methods because they are entering for thousands of different reasons. Parking isn't working primarily because what they get isn't what the wanted. Any ideas? If someone has a solution let me know here or via PM.

Re: 5000 uniques What would you do?

Yes and that seemed to be worse. The best I've been able to convert is using the term Free since everyone loves free. Also this is real traffic not bought or image impressions. So thats not the issue. The issue is EVERYONE is most likely entering for a different reason.

Nope not adult either. I've considered that route but would love to find a clean solution.

Re: 5000 uniques What would you do?

hmmm...darn....didn't buy that forwarding to me suggestion...the only thing i can think of right way is either consider selling the domain or trading the domain/traffic for a domain that you want, etc.

Re: 5000 uniques What would you do?

Well I might aswell do as suggested as it is at the moment. But there's got to be a better and I might add financially rewarding way. If i can't get it to convert shortly I'll probably end up selling to someone who can. But would rather convert.

Re: 5000 uniques What would you do?

Have you checked the referrers? Maybe you can determine what the majority of the traffic is interested in? What is your current CTR?

Re: 5000 uniques What would you do?

I decided to give domainsponsor a try and so far so good. 13.33% CTR as opposed to -1% at 3 other providers. It's actually turning out the popups alone are averaging higher than I was getting elsewhere.

NameMogul,
You can also try DS's "generic lander" which doesn't have auto optimization. From my experience it pays higher CPC

Re: 5000 uniques What would you do?

Build a small page about the Internet in general then put a Google Adsense for Search box on the page and let them search for keywords they want.

google adsense search doesnt seem to work well for me, but with 5000 per day, it might be worth a try

Re: 5000 uniques What would you do?

Put the search box near the top center of the page, or in the general center of the first screenful area, so it is in a good spot for a person to start a search.

If the traffic is so general, then you could build your own webpage and put different subject content on there (with google or yahoo ads), and keep changing subjects until you find one that pulls well. Look for subjects that almost everyone online would be interested in. Add a google/firefox banner. Your subject matter could be an article about the growth of the internet, or online searching, or free online games. This kind of example shows the value in having targetted traffic, which is much more easy to convert. Good luck.

Re: 5000 uniques What would you do?

Try adding chitika mall https://chitika.com/mm_overview.php to an adsense based greneral intrest site like a news/weather site and or ask your traffic to fill out a form ( you can even offer a prize or incentive) the form basically asked them what they were expecting to find or what they would like to find. If however this is a site with a history as in the traffic is from an originally deleted domain do a wayback search http://web.archive.org/archive_request_ng to see what was there before you got it and market to it's original industry.
