should I aim more at typos and not very popular words..

by the way my site is about home theater, projection screens

My experiences are that you get more traffic from adwords than from overture but it's also more expensive per keyword. For instince you pay for a keyword at overture $0,10 per click and at adworks you would pay for the same keyword $0,12 per click. If you have a small budget then is overture certainly the best option for you. If you sign-up at overture you can use keyword selecter toll what will tell you everything you need to now. Click per month and he estimated clicks and budget you will need.
You can better take your time to find the best keywords. If you stay looking you can find some good once and get more targeted traffic for the same price.

I've always found overtures 3-day review process very annoying & their interface is hard to understand & the fact you have to deposit money into your account before you can run ads (especially the part where they only allow you to put in a minimum of 3 days worth of ads if you have run ads before - what happens if you don't want to run those ads anymore & wanna run different ads & don't want to deposit that much??? :huh: ) .... all this amounts down to a BIG plus for adwords.

That is true, but you pay more for the adwords. I find it normal that you open an account and deposit some money into your account. To start your campaign.
