How does Google Adsense work?

Well, I am a google adsense publisher, and this is very strange for me. I know we cannot share our "earnings" with people but here is an example

Please explain..

On one day I Have 723 visitors and 30 clicks, but I only make $2.96

And on another day I have 777 vistors and 39 clicks and make $6.67

Why is this? *please note these are camperable values NOT the real ones*

the ad's are constantly rotated.. one day you might have your users mostly clicking on 3 cent ad's, the next 5 cent ad's.. the day after back to 3 cents... and so on.. there is nothing stable about google adsense payouts this days, it varies quiet often especially if you are dealing with general topics like music, games, chat, etc.

On my forum now It shows ive had 2 clicks and 0 income. I don't see any public service ads.. -.-

google is weird like that.. heh, what do you expect... i mean, it's alright as long as your making $$$ because it's better then nothing, right? and anyways.. don't worry about it too much.. it usually fixes it self, just gotta give it time... they dont provide support, can close your account when and if they feel like it... man, its great to be google!

Google AdSense is awful, even this site stopped using it.

Adsense is the best ad network out there for most sites - but not all.

Forums are the WRONG place to use Adsense, but saying it is "awful" is certainly not a justified statement

Yeah.... I need a better solution for forums also.... I tried several contextual advertising places recently but in the end I think Adsense still is the best... second place went to contextweb.com
