there is a good business model for this even a small player like me who makes 100 dollars a month. on 3,000 views
assuming google overture makes 90 percent I make ten(low number)
then in 1 yr 1,200 for me over 10k in income a yr from my shabby collection
I would think in an effort to raise bottom lines on publicaly traded companies we might see something soon, any thoughts
I don't see it happening - they would rather deal with a small number of large players than with thousands of smaller ones. The good news is that you don't need it. The companies who make it their business to manage the traffic are doing great things. I recently switched from a direct Google relationship (Adsense for Domains, aka DomainPark) to DomainSponsor (Premier) and get more money, better stats, quicker payments, and better support. In speaking with the DomainSponsor folks at the TRAFFIC 2004 show it became obvious they are serious about what they do and have some big improvements in the works. They have deals with Overture, Google, and a new third partner they can't yet name (I'm guessing Kanoodle), so they can send your traffic where it will make the most money. And that is not to take anything away from their competition, sedo and Fabulous.com are also working hard to compete. In my opinion this is now a better way to go for almost all domain name portfolio owners than doing direct deals.Originally Posted by fatter

Dont kid yourself ; no way is Google NOT going to go after the smaller players. The smaller players own far more taffic (collectively) than the fewdozen top owners.
By large players I didn''t mean owners of large numbers of domain names. I meant large traffic aggregators (aka sponsors). Google will get their share of the traffic - from players of every size.Originally Posted by deter

DomainSponsor, Fabulous, sedo, DomainHop, etc, provide a valuable service in aggregating traffic from numerous domain owners. I doubt that Google and Overture will want to cut out these companies. These services host the pages and provide the stats for domain owners. You can get a better deal from DomainSponsor than you can by going direct with Google.
