    Question Italian Traffic

I have a domain that is generating 400 to 500 uniques per day, almost all originating in Italy. The domain is baset.com. I have no idea why it is generating so much traffic. I currently have it at sedo, in English, as there is no Italian option at sedo. Anyone have a suggestion of an Italian PPC service or other ideas for converting this traffic?

...people might be thinking that "baset" is a brand or company!

the term "Base T" has to do with cable/dsl/routers and ethernet devices, it is something used to network computers and such... i think its a piece of hardware to be exact!

look up baset/base-t/base t on ebay or anywhere else... the results pretty much explain what the term is exactly tied up to

Good thinking. However, why is all of my traffic coming from Italy? More to the point, how can I monetize it?

    Re: Italian Traffic

i have no clue why the traffic would originate mainly from italy! try and optimize the ppc keywords to something like... ethernet, networking, etc... and wait and see if you get an increase in the ctr... if not, then probly the domain has nothing to do with ethernet and baset means something in italian.

    Re: Italian Traffic

    Hi Howard,

If you can figure out a keyword in Italian (try an online dictionary), you can actually specify the Italian word as your keyword, and sedo's geo-targeting will ensure that all of your Italian visitors will see Italian advertisements.

This same trick will work for any language/ country where Google has advertisements, which is a lot of countries!

    I hope that helps.

    Sincerely,

    Matt,

Thanks. However, I have no idea what Italian keyword might be appropriate for baset.com. I tried Google dictionary, and basetti = sideburns, basetta = sideburn, baste = tucks.

Any Italians or other Italian-speakers have any better ideas?
