Register Today on DNForum IT'S FREE!Hey all. I was hoping I could pick your brains for a minute. Recently I volunteered and created a website for an organization that helps homeless folks in the D.C. area. I got their content up and I am hoping to make their site generate some cash for them this next year if it is worth it...
The URL is www.newhopehousing.org. It gets about 1,300 hits a month and has a PR4... right now.
I was wondering if you all think it is worth it to advertise on this site. If so, what click ad program would you suggest? What do you think it could pull in? I am not looking for the bible here, just a couple of verses. If you could point me in the right direction, I would be greatly appreciative.![]()

try Adsense....the housing subject will show up some high value clicks ads (probably getting more than $1 per click) but may also display other volunteer site's ads that google displays for free due to your content - in any case try it.
glad to see such projects

you have to first figure out who exactly is visiting the site , is it people looking to help?
these type of sites are hard to monitize , adsense might bring a little , maybe $10 to $20 a month on that kind of traffic.
I think you will make more by actually selling something on the site that gets donated to the cause , something like sell each day of the year (365 sales at $50 or $100) and dedicate that day at the house to their name , and publish it on the website and in other publishings the org. does ,also have the homeless staying there write a short thank you to each persons day and send it to them on that day they bought, people will tend to buy it for the recognition , and buy their birthdays or somehing, the idea is they get something for their donation plus the writeoff on their taxes.
good luck to the org.
