traffic domains experiment

I had a thought a while back that surfers are becoming more and more familliar with ppc pages and are therefore sick of them. I mean after a while they do start to seem like templates. Consiquently many simply hit the back button or type in a new site, rather than click. This is more true for some market segments than others, but I would bet it holds true to some degree, for all types of internet users.

I decided to do a little experiment. I took 3 names, 1 adult (links traffic mainly), 1 ecommerce(type in) and 1 typo(type in). I put up one page sites at each. Each site has a 200x200 custom logo, top center. Nice colored background. Below that is a google adsence search box. Below that is a google adsence 728x90 leaderboard. The leaderboard blends into the site, not loud like the ones at the top of DNF There is about 3 lines of keyword rich content on each site. Thats it.

If I started a service, hosting the sites(page), designing the logo and building the page, including inserting the google code, all i need is pub #(channel would be domain name), writing the desired content, would there be interest in this? The content and the domain name has to make sence, just like the keyword/domain name does for parking vendors. My fee would be falt rate, say $25 and monthly hosting. Hosting, if you wanted or needed it, would be cheap as only 1 page. $2 month per site.

Anyway if your not happy with your parking partner, or just want to try one, let me know. I have never heard anyone challenge/complain about Google's accounting/clicktracking/payout system.

Or try it yourself if you have the means!

No I can't answer that. Read between the lines

EDIT: I realize this may not be an original idea, and that some of you might be doing this already.

Re: traffic domains experiment

You might be sick of PPC pages, but most people are not. My PPC revenue keeps going up.

So, what was the result of your experiment???

I might be interested in giving your proposal a try.

Re: traffic domains experiment

I have tried this before with good results. Anytime you take the time to try and make the site look REAL with a logo and have an attractive page with a few related graphics, the user seems to click alot more because they actually think the site contains what they want. My problem however is that I don't have the google direct connection (have to go through sedo/etc) so I had to try it with searchfeed.com etc whos payouts are too low to even make it worthwhile.

If you are a direct partner of google (congrats on having that much traffic ) I would figure this would be hugely beneficial, especially since you can control the meta content for the search engine spidering. This works especially well for domains that are expired withalot of old visitors etc. I tried this with old adult expired names and the type in visitors would just think that the site had been redisgned, my clickthroughs pretty much doubled because of this.

Re: traffic domains experiment

You don't have to be a direct partner of google, just sign up for their adwords. Anyone can sign up
