I think it depends on number of impressions too, not just the click rate
Hello,
One thing I've found over the last month is your click through is going to depend greatly on where you're getting your traffic. I've got a blog that normally has a small reader base expecting one type of information. A large event happened in that industry and I posted pictures and commentary about it which got picked up by a ton of other blogs from all over the world.
As I watched my traffic and impressions sky rocket, I watched my click through go down the toilet. Most of the new traffic was hitting my page for one specific reason, not the content of the site so they were in and out before clicking an ad.
Helped me with a ton of links in, but did nothing really for ad revenue. Sure I'll pick up a few new readers but stunts like that just don't help click through.
Without knowing what area your site is based on it's hard to say what a good click through rate for you is. Some sites I'm thrilled with 1%.
Give us more details.

5 % is a good click rate.
But again it depends on the impression.
Like if you are getting 100 people on your site, even if 90 people click, that will be called a click fraud.
I have websites with a CTR of more than 10%. But my overall average currently
is 9%. That's a good CTR. I should mention that those websites were done for
the only purpose of making money with AdSense.
Targeted traffic will always to better than traffic will less focus. On niche type sites I consistantly see 20% ++ CTR. On more general sites 10% is expected. On sites where I simply funnel type-in traffic - I am lucky to get 0.5%.
Put the Ads above the fold and smack in the middle of the content. Make the Ad colors such that the Ads blend into the site and almost look like your own content (except for the Ads by Google part).
is it allowed to talk about click rate? im afraid that it breaks google tos
You're right. It's against Google's terms and conditions to disclose CTR:Originally Posted by aboutwhat.org
