These stats are very suspect based on not even 1 .us or .biz being reg'd in 24-hrs.

Hard to believe the info us and biz stats could possibly be accurate.

since I started tracking this a few weeks ago, it has happened at least 6-7 times that there're stats which don't make any sense from any angle.

I have reason to believe the stats are real.. we'll know tommorrow...(at least about 17,000 .Info deletes)

These Info's were not really deleted. For some reason they temporarily dropped out of the zonefile, that's all. If you look them up in the Afilias WhoIs you can see they are still active.

Did any of the landrush registrars accept registrations for a 1-year term? Lots of them would be expiring around now.

I believe all LR applications had to accept a 2 year min. period.

Thats what I was looking at ..thought there might have been a screw up on exactlly how long they reg'ed them for!

What about realtime regs right after the landrush ended? Could those be for a one year term? There might have been a burst of them when people figured out what possibly-usable names were left after the sunrise and landrush periods, but since they were mostly third-rate names by then, a lot of them would be left to expire.

OK, but can we trust a report with other obvious errors in it? How accurate is the source posting major errors?

We notice you looking at our stats, just thought we would clarify.

.BIZ and .US are run by the same company NeuStar. They have been having problems with their zonefile updates. They have been broken for about a week now. They say they should be fixed tomorrow but they are also changing the format of the zonefiles today so we will see how things go. NeuStar is a good group of people and they have contacted us about our stats and they are going to work closely with us so that we can maintain independent acurate numbers. We have added the reserved domains which don't show in zonefiles so we should better reflex their real numbers now. Right now we monitor only zonefiles, we don't monitor real deletes. If a domain is removed from the zonefile it could be a hold or a soon to delete. We just report this remove and not the reason.

Yeah, great resource to check on how fast .info and .biz is growing on a day to day basis. sotd updates are too slow.

Notice Neustar still hasn't fixed the zonefile problem yet
