there is only 2 domain extensions :
.com and .co.uk
New.Net ..havent they folded yet ! LOL
Whois-Search is being a bit facetious, I think... I believe .de (Germany) actually has more registrations than .co.uk. Anyway, does he think the Internet exists only for commercial activity, not the sorts of noncommercial things that go on in .org, .edu, .gov, .mil, .ac.uk, etc.?

Usual crap from Easyspace. Nowhere in the email does it say that these pseudo-TLD's are not supported by the main namespace, although it's mentioned somewhere on their site if you dig a little.Originally posted by zaq

I think this pretty much shows to everyone what sort of a registrar Easyspace are. Obviously they're hoping people will register these names out of ignorance. Well I don't have any names with them anymore and certainly won't be using them again, regardless.
So if we all boycott them, and transfer any names away from them, maybe they'll get the message and smarten up rather than preying on the ignorance of their customers (somehow I doubt it).

Wouldn't you (all) think .uk were more attractive
if they dropped .co/.me/... too?![]()

I quite like .co.uk myself. I prefer it to com.uk (which doesn't exist) funnily enough. Looks and sounds better to me.Originally posted by kunkrab

You can get .uk but you need to demonstrate a specific and unique reason I believe. Examples:
sch.uk
nhs.uk
police.uk
and all these are broken down into sub-domains.

I won't be surprised if this was true for most in the UK. and .de for those in Germany.
A sense of national identify for web addressing does in many situations override the hollywood ballyhoo of .com.
