Yes, the name is clearly way overpriced. It's a NET not a com plus has ZERO returns at Suggestion Tool, meaning little if any type-in traffic. I would peg the value at no more than 10% of the sale price.

Remember a great name like Tits.net only sold for $16,000, purchased by DomainKing, low priced mostly because it was a NET. P.S. I am not in to porn at all but only mention this since it is so incredibly valuable to a porn guy like DK

Not likely there will be a sale of ad.net for 150K either. Afternic tells me that most bids like that turn out to be bogus (which is why they quickly took the reported sale off the site to investigate it). You would think people would have better things to do that run around ruining other people's auctions but that is the society we live in.

Legitimate sales that high on Afternic are rare, but they do happen. We have been trying to close a $200K sale for a while now. Buyer is qualified and serious, but there is a trademark issue. We'll see.

Actually, bogus offers are also uncommon on our site because we charge buyers a nominal membership fee. That policy cuts out about 99% of the bogus activity (we operated without a "screening" fee back when we were NameBuySell.com). I guess it takes away the fun when you have to identify yourself with a credit card or PayPal to send someone a nuisance offer.

What made that ad.net offer look most suspicious was that it was "out of the blue." Most high end sales involve some offers and counter offers. Other signs were also there.
