    Amazon.com becomes a registrar!

    Well, it seems like Amazon.com wants a piece of the domain industry as well. They have become an accredited registrar. I guess they heard there were some money to be made from this

    Nice find

    Seems they are following were the money was... actually only the biggest players (registrars) make the money...

    They are very innovative though; Lets see what they bring to the table..

    So there goes a question..

    What domain or subdomain will amazon use for regs?

    I put on my thinking cap and for a laugh came up with the name domazon.com. Checked the whois and by coincidence it's a name in the redemption period.

    I don't think Amazon needs to go out and chase any customers. They already have their database of current/old customers and affiliates to target. The only question is how many of those would consider switching registrars or register a domain?

    I heard this news before reading this thread. And my reseller myself got high. I went to check some ideas like

    1. amazone
    2. ramazon
    3. amazonregistrar
    etc

    I saw that all of them were tkaen by Amazon around 2000!
